About Albert & Moo

Albert & Moo is the long standing dream of me, Lianne Westwood, which finally became a reality in late 2017. With a love of interior design since I was a child, a career in online retail spanning a decade, and a newly acquired interior design diploma under my belt, it was a trip to Berlin that finally inspired me to take the plunge. Combining what I know, with what I love, my very own interiors website was born.

The name was decided long before though, being the nicknames of two of my pets (Albi and Mooli the bearded dragons - there is also Winston, the incredibly handsome Cocker Spaniel, who sometimes does some modelling for us). The names together somehow conveys my interior style. Albert provokes images of dark, moody hues, with grown up accents of neutrals and metallics. Moo is the playful addition - a pop of colour here, an odd vintage find there, which stops the whole thing from being too serious, and a gives a quirky, individual edge.  Supporting small, local designers and makers has always been important, and with Albert & Moo, I try as much as possible to stock products which are handmade, or designed and produced in the UK, particularly championing local brands. I am a staunch supporter of the Just A Card campaign, and very much practice what I preach, shopping with other indie brands and retailers almost exclusively. I even have a semi-regular series on my blog called #ShopSmall where I take different trends and then find the best products from indie stores.

Sustainability is an important aspect for Albert & Moo, and again I try and support companies who value fair trade products and recycled materials. We always try to minimise our waste, and this includes reusing and recycling packaging wherever possible. We never buy plastic packaging, preferring to use recycled paper. We also reuse all of the bubble wrap and air bags our stock is packaged in.

Virtually all of the products sold by Albert & Moo can be found either in my London home, or in One Mill House, my Suffolk holiday cottage. You can find out more about renting my holiday home, One Mill House, here. Albert & Moo also offers an interior design consultancy service.
