Behind the Scenes: Life Update - 2024

I've done it again! Except it's been four years rather than four months this time. Oops!
Last update was midway through 2020 and I was pondering life returning to normal. It didn't exactly. As well as another lock down and lots more social distancing my four years went something like this:
2020 - Discovered I was pregnant
2021 - Had my daughter
2022 - Decided to leave London and started house hunting in rural Suffolk
2023 - Moved to rural Suffolk and got my head around being a mum and living in rural Suffolk
2024 - Turned my attention back to Albert & Moo and started doing interior design in lovely Suffolk Georgian (and older) country houses rather than London Victorian houses.
It's been a roller coaster!
If you follow me on Instagram you'll know some of this - At the start of 2020 I was child free and happily living in South East London.
And then Covid happened, life turned upside down and in a few short years I found myself with a toddler and living in the middle of nowhere! My husband and I always knew we'd move out of London eventually - he's a country boy (growing up in rural Kent) and as I've mentioned before I always secretly had a dream of moving to the countryside so I could have all the animals. Post Covid and with a new baby seemed like as good a time as any, but it wasn't until we got here I realized quite how big a change it would be. I'd taken extended maternity leave; knowing that we were imminently moving, and being self employed meant there was little point in putting my daughter into nursery, so this website took a back seat whilst I focused on being a mum full time (undoubtedly the hardest job there is) . Once my daughter was settled into a nursery after the move I slowly turned my attention back to the world of home decor and interior design. Firstly I gave Albert & Moo a little re-brand to reflect the changing times and my life, I re-platformed the website, I cleared through lots of old stock via the Sale, found some new brands (like Pepin and Ingadi) and bought some new stock. In terms of design I realized that designing the interiors of London terraces that I was so used to doing was going to be replaced with designing the interiors of beautiful, old, country houses. There was a lot of adjusting!
Oh and we've bought another house that needs work, so more on that to come as we're about to embark on another renovation project! There will be more frequent updates over on Instagram if you don't already follow Albert & Moo there.
